Louis Vuitton A Passion for Creation Exhibition.

"Louis Vuitton officially opened their “A Passion for Creation” exhibition last night [Thursday] in Hong Kong, showcasing selected works from the Fondation Louis Vuitton pour la Création, bringing together a small number of significant large-scale works (paintings, photographs, video installations) by European, American and Chinese artists. The shoe featured amazing installations by the likes of Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince, and Stephen Sprouse. Other works included pieces by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Paul Chan, Cao-Fei, Yang Fudong, Gilbert & George, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Andreas Gursky, Pierre Huyghe, Jeff Koons, Bertrand Lavier, Christian Marclay, Richard Prince. The show runs through August 9th, 2009."

"Onwards" by James Jarvis for Nike.

"Rather than a marketing project inititated by Nike, the film was something proposed and produced by myself, and as such I hope represents a much more equal collaboration with a brand.”
The film was inspired by certain personal experiences in running – a favourite run over Blanchland moor in Northumberland, being attacked by a crow in Singapore – and also by the transcendent, almost psychedelic experience of the simple act of running.

Yves Saint Laurent.

Originally displayed on a triptych of screens, the film plays across three frames of action. Romantic, ethereal and yet technologically complex, the film manages to evoke the twin dynamics of familiarity and formality and the tension of old and new constantly at play in Pilati's offerings for men. This video was first seen during the presentation of YSL menswear collections in Paris, the video is edited to evoke the passage of time – a day in the life of the Yves Saint Laurent homme.

I came across this video about a year ago and really liked it. The music, the visuals, the cuts and edits. This is a really interesting piece to see for yourself.
